Sally Nixon e le sue illustrazioni.

La stessa autrice spiega il suo lavoro come piace a noi, senza giri di parole né sofismi del cavolo. Estratto dal sito ufficiale :

"Sally Nixon is an illustrator living in Little Rock, Arkansas. She graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 2013 with a BFA in illustration. She loves drawing girls because they're pretty and food because it's the best."

Nell'intervista con Creators Project:

"The women I draw come from my imagination for the most part, however, each of them, in one way or another, is a reflection of my personality [...] They don’t have perfect bodies or perfect habits and that makes them relatable. The scenes I create around them are everyday places: a bathroom, a restaurant, a messy bedroom. However my goal with each drawing is to elevate the seemingly mundane to something special and worthy of being viewed."

Cos'è FEMALES?

Females è dedicato alla cultura pop femminile 

che ha accompagnato e che accompagna tuttora 

generazioni e generazioni di ragazze e di donne,

ricordando tutte quelle icone femminili 

che in qualche modo hanno lasciato il segno. 

Che siano parte di un cartone animato o di una pubblicità, poco importa. 

Ciò che importa è che in un modo o nell'altro quelle figure ci hanno forgiate

e indirizzate verso un tipo di donna più forte e cosciente.

Più autentica e verace.

Più pronta e indipendente.

Per questo Lady Oscar spacca quanto Agnès Varda.

Special Female: la bimba del magic girlpower e dei pink tutù

#1 Esce un video nel 2012, una cover di Sophia e sua cugina Rosie di Superbass di Nicki Minaj. Da quel momento Sophia diventa una STAR.

 

#2 Guest star allo show di Elle, duetta con Nicki Minaj ma soprattutto le tiene testa: la bambina diventa una leggenda.

 

  

 #3 Ora è parte integrante della trasmissione: le due bambine tengono una rubrica chiamata Tea Time with Sophia and Rosie dove le due bambine prendono tazze di tè con importanti star del mondo della musica.

Un anno fa è uscito il suo primo singolo "Best Friends". Dedichiamo un piccolo spazio a questa principessavulcanica perché pur essendo piccola e fuori da qualsiasi presa di posizione, rappresenta in qualche modo una forza esplosiva femmminile che spesso si perde con l'età.
